Founded in 1967, Hungexpo has been dedicated and professional in organizing trade exhibitions, fairs, and conferences from the outset. With its extensive international network of contacts and representative network, it leads as the organizer of choice for exhibitions and conferences in Central and Eastern Europe. The commercial sale of the area and services of the Hungexpo Budapest Convention and Exhibition Center is another vital aspect of the company's operation.

The privatization of Hungexpo in 2005 opened a new chapter in the company's life. The new owner, the French GL events company group, not only undertook the development of the area but also paved the way for huge international conferences and exhibitions. Events such as the European Football Association (UEFA) congress, the annual general assembly of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) operating under the UN, or the organization of Sirha, one of the world's most important gastronomy military parades, became possible. In 2016 and 2022, Budapest and Hungexpo hosted the European finals of the international cooking competition, Bocuse d'Or.

As a result of the revitalization program that ended in 2021, the Hungexpo pavilions were renovated, and two new exhibition pavilions and a world-class congress center were built. The capital and the country have been enriched with a modern exhibition and conference venue that satisfies all needs, further solidifying Hungexpo's market-leading role at home and in the region. In recognition of his innovative leadership role in the commercial and tourist life of the capital, CEO Gábor Ganczer was awarded the Budapest Award in 2019.

May 7-10: AUTOMOTIVE HUNGARY, the International trade fair for vehicle industry suppliers, will be held. It's where professional actors of the vehicle industry, from Hungarian car manufacturers to suppliers and small and medium-sized enterprises, can meet and present innovations, products, and services contributing to the development of the Hungarian vehicle industry and increasing its competitiveness.
